I think we posted a story about this a while back on the frontpage. Regardless, I think television/movies/music has far more problems than games. I understand both perspectives, and the rights of both. Underage drinking is still a problem, so I don't think underage video gaming is leaving either ;)

17 might be too high. Afterall, you can get a permit at 15. Perhaps lowering the age to 13 would be better. Although, on the plus side, this might mean that we get less cheaters and immature people playing... :D

I think banning games like this from children isnt as good as they think, not only is the GOVT ruining the freedom of speech act on this, but they are limiting the buy of games for kids, who for the most part havnt been running around killing police officers (have your kids killed any cops today)

Doesn't matter to me... 18 years of age, and if kids want to buy the games, give your parents the cash and have them buy it.

I dont think kids should have to have their parents around for everything, kids should be able to rely on themselves at a younger age,if the kids wanna buy a violent videogame, than more power to them, what if ur 15,have a job,but cant buy a movie or a game you with money you earned.

"Freedom of speech" can never truely exsist if It did i could get onto national tv and tell the word, all sorts of racial things and no budy could do any thing about it.

Nope not really, jusst all entertainment must be approved for use in canada. there are no laws pretaining to video games. We never had any made. Our government has tighter rains on use then yours, they limit our freedom of speach alot but all the time it really is for the best of the nation. I remeber when they made that girl appologize to the usa for call bush and all ammericans Bastards. LOL. but no. No problems of that sort.

Of course kids shouldn't have to rely on their parents for everything. But if it's impossible to do something then get someone older and/or dumber to do it then ;). And as it is it's illegal to sell some games to kids anyway but stores don't give a damn one way or the other. No one reports them, no one probably will. So what's it matter?

actualy police up her will do stings on stuff like that. they get some cops kid to go buy a violent video game or rent a movie, and if there not stoped they will close the place down.

That's because it's Canada... The US (Save the politicians looking for their spot in the limelight) doesn't give a damn :D

Below 18 you really don't have any constitutional rights. You only have the right to live. At 18, you are legally recognized as a human being. Odd that the belief of children as human property still persists in our supposedly human-rights-conscious society. I'm only happy that I was born before congress could go inane =\
