Gman's Story - Serious Edition

I saw FriendlyGarg was creating a story on his forums by putting together images. Well, why don't we do the same?

The basic idea is to follow the black mesa story, but from gman's (the government guy in the blue suit from HL) perspective.

Here are the guidelines:
- Anyone can contribute
- Follow the story of the last image - your image needs to make sense! Insanity belongs in the Insane Edition (http://forums.editingarchive.com/index.php?act=ST&f=4&t=27&st=0&) :)
- Nothing rude, profane, or vulgar
- Try to keep characters in character

Having said that, here's two images to get you started!

I have to agree, that last image was just... odd ;)

Sorry fyre, but we are trying to keep a continuous storyline (to a certain degree at least lol), and that just breaks it all up. I've moved it to another thread. If you really want to continue that branch, please do it in another thread :)

It's really hard making a story..
At the moment our own story is screwed, but it was not a real surprise to me. We just have to find the guys that are capable of making a good story. Once we found a few, I can create a section on the forum or somewhere else where we can make a story on normal way. Maybe we can find people here and there and join together. How does that sound? Let me know if your interested.

If you want us to host it I can make a dedicated forum and mod you if you're willing to put in the time ;) Otherwise, if you just make a post on these boards with a link I'm sure most of us will come and help out anyway :D Also send me an email and I'll post it on the frontpage.

I am beginning to think it might not be a bad idea to fully plan a story out, and *then* make the gfx for it? Obviously it might be harder to get people to participate since they know what'll happen next, and they can't change the outcome of the story, but for the end-reader it'd be a *much* better read. Of course, there's also the challenge of finding a decent plotline ;)

Once other people post there image it will be VERY different then these images you made.

I highly encourage n00bs to participate, but anything that messes up the story will be branched off. As much fun as it is to make these, I also highly value the end-reader's experience. Now, truely insane stories can be made, but just not in this thread :)

Having said that, everyone is welcome to participate! But you do run the risk of branching into your own story if you diverge too far :D

question, i saw that you guys uploaded it on your upload-forum....

my pic is a bit more complicated ( as most of mine) and i think it might work...

gman realised that gordon went to the test chameber ( last image)
then suddenly he gains a +2 bonus on intelligence ( you'll see it on the pic)
i tryed to make it "game-like" because it is a game....

the extra menu pops out when he gets a "level-up"
then: -strength : whatyathingthisis?
-intelligence : being "smart"
-energy: if he has low "energy" he is tired,act stupid etc..etc...

Because user submissions have been far too insane, and it seems there's demand for that, I've split this topic into two:
Serious Edition - (which you're reading now) and
Insane Edition (http://forums.editingarchive.com/index.php?act=ST&f=4&t=27&st=0)

Please keep the story serious (and sensible) in this thread. The word "Serious" is relative, so humor is ok, but it needs to be humor that makes sense and doesn't mess up the story.

Feel free to go crazy (but keep it clean) in the Insane thread. Thanks, and looking forward to seeing what people will make! :D

Sorry, the +2 gain to intelligence just made me think of D&D. If I didn't already have so much I should be working on I'd make a HL rpg game. Mmm... /me thinks back to the mini-HTRPG "Ruby attacks c0debug with ultrasonic bark" wonder if I've still got that somewhere...
