See I would do that, but then there's the fact I have finals that day (Wednesday) and sitting through 9 hours of movie just wouldn't go over really well with me.

I would fall alseep after the new movie because the first two bore the shit out of me. :-p

So you hate FPS and the LotR movies...

Alright all in favor of castrating Insane and making him the community's whipping boy say AYE.

I don't hate LotR.... in fact, I'm very excited to see the last one. Its just that I think that they could cut some of the moive out where they do nothing interesting at all (ie. walking about yapping on). 3 hours? I could cut it into a manageable, interesting 1.

As much as I hate agreeing with insane... I only watched the first movie, and was somewhat disappointed. I think it's a great movie, but it's really more for fans, and not much for... non-fans...

Though if they could combine all 3 movies, make it an hour and a half, it would probably work well :D

/me blocks stab with PARTYHATE! ~<|:D

Only saw the first movie? Well no wonder you think they all may/do suck.

Go watch the 2nd when you can. A good deal of the 2nd half of that movie is nothing but hellaciously large battles, and the 3rd is said to be battles upon battles... :D

The books are SO much better... did anyone here read them?

ElyCyan

When I'm done with the books I plan to read maybe I'll take a look at the series. The thing about the second one is that there are boring parts, and then there are kickass parts. Should be watched at least once.

I don't have the time or the patience to sit and read all 3 of those books. I attempted to read the Hobbit and damn if that didn't bore the hell out of me.

The Hobbit is the best part of the Lord of the Rings... <_<

Indeed, I read through that book but just barely. There were many long, boring stretches...

The same can be said about the LotR movies.

Yeah, but at least during the movies you can entertain yourself by yelling out "Darth Vader is Luke's father!!! Lea is Luke's sister!!! Oh my God it's just mind blowing!!! Picard could blast them ALL away with his superleet Jedi mind powers!!"... All the while all the Lord of the Rings fans get pissed at you.

Not that I've ever yelled that out mind you :P

Congrats. I'm excited for the new movie too, but I'll probably wait a few days since I hate crowded theatres.

lol

This reminds me of a bad late show documentary where a bunch of star wars people dressed up and crashed the line of a LOTR movie (who were dressed up accordingly).

Afternoon After:

They had radio stations at the theater, television news stations... It was great. Packed theater. Three theaters all showing just the RotK where I went. Stadium seating, large Sprite, and just a kickass movie.

Got back around 4AM, had a final this morning at 8AM til 10PM and I'm still alive somehow... Ha.

It's a fucking shame how Insane doesn't know a great cinematic experience when it's in front of his damn face.

i went to the Seattle IMAX premier show of that at like 1 am in the morning, the theater was packed and for some such reason it took me like 45 minutes to get out of the parking lot after (around 3:00 am) The movie was great, simpally cause they showed the spider caves finilly (i read all 4 books) oh well guess good movies are rare..huh? beats the whole matrix series.
