My Screeb Is Pitch Black

Hello, When i connect to a server, i choose my team and weapon. then the screen goes black.. i can hear and move around fine but i cant see. please help me. i thikn its something in my console..

Note: All my other steam games work fine :blink:

Is this counterstrike? Did it work fine before you changed some settings?

Try going to steam\steamapps\your@email.com\GAMENAME\MODNAME\

Let's try and get steam to make a new, fresh config file.
Move config.cfg from that directory and put it somewhere else (like a backup folder, a temp directory, etc, just out of that directory). See if steam loads then.

There are some other config files, but config.cfg has all the console commands (AFAIK). Lemme know what happens :)

BTW, if moving the config file breaks things more, you can always move it back to the directory to restore your settings :)

no my Counter-Strike works fine.. im talking about Day of Defeat.. i can see the screen fine when i select my weapon. but right when i spawn it goes black... plz help me

Which day of defeat? Downloaded? Retail? Steam?

Hmm, does the old version of DOD work for you? Or is this just a steam problem?

Did you try changing the graphics modes? IE change between opengl and directx? Also try a different resolution?

M is switch team, right? That's bizarre, but it's good that it works for you now :)
