I occasionaly get drafted to the concept team because the studio I work in is rather small... and we are working on a new game concept based after WW3...

nothing much more I'm allowed to say aside from it's a first person shooter... any way here are some of the gun models I made...

Nothing to fancy... after I realized the sniper was 475 tris I had to go back and work on it... that polycount is murder on the PSP... and the even a normal texture sheet of 256^2 is killer on the evil 2 megs of eDram we have...

Nice stuff!

I'm surprised the PSP can't easily handle a 256x256 texture, but I suppose it is a portable system.

Thanks for sharing!

It can handle 512^2 sheets quite well, its not a problem of gpu power its a problem of texture space in eDram (aka Vram) under proper compression you could have a 1024^2 texture no problem. no drop in framerate at all... but that would be your only texture...

So, essentially, it's not a problem of pushing pixels out to the screen, so much as it is caching the textures in memory?

I'm not sure what you could really do to help resolve that situation. Your present texture maps must be tiny (64x64?). I suppose you just re-use as many textures as you can and quickly cache out the ones you don't need?

That does looks pretty nice, even for being so low poly count.

When you can, let us know what game / company it is. :)

The top gun kind of looks like an SL-9 or SL-8 the only difference I see is in the stock and the connection of the stock. The pistol looks like a USP. They are both really pretty.
