Just to clear things up :)
Saikano = Ultimate Weapon Girlfriend
The full title of Saikano is very long and I can't remember it.
Does anyone know it?
She, the Ultimate Weapon
and
Saishuu Heiki Kanojo
I had planned to do more encoding today, but seeing as the files are on the same computer undergoing hdd maintenace... it's rather... impossible :( More saikano and others coming soon though :)

Fooly Cooly for instance :) (I said that just to annoy Insane)
Yes, FLCL was good, but short. Does the manga have more to it?

The manga was 2 volumes and very... its VERY different from the anime, more mature, not as whacked out, even abstract at times. It didn't really explain anything (sort of like how the anime didn't explain things, but even less explaining). Somehow though, it's still amazing. I recommend it.

my vote goes for full metal alchemist.
Walrii, mind giving me the quick 2 cent tour of Folly Colly? The name sounds familiar, close to something one of my friends was telling me about AWHILE ago, but I couldn't really remember the name to look into it.

I vote for some more Full Metal Alchemist.
But I would also like to see Scryed...that anime is soooo awesome when you get past the slow first episodes.
Hmm, is scryed licensed? If not, I'll have to see about getting some up after I finish these series.
Also, good news: compressed air *seems* to have fixed my vaio laptop. Pwn! :) More video after spring break! Also got some EA CGI stuff coming up :)
I began on the TV-style scheduling system today. It's looking very promising so far! :)
Walrii
03-18-2004, 06:12 PM
You said you have a negative comment about the TV style scheduling, and I can't possibly see what the negative side of the new scheduling style would be... wanna enlighten me?
More time for advertising is available since programs end in ~25minutes, and the next program slots are about 30 minutes big. That's an entire 5 minutes of advertising. Unlike on realtv where you have ~15 minutes of advertising :P

hi y'all, i'm new here so i don;t have much right to a vote, but i definatly think that the vampire episode thingy would be good, i got hooked on watching it but its only 5 episodes long so far and there are loads of episodes 1-5 binged in peculiar slots it would be a way cool if sim9 could cut out the randoms and stick in the rest of the the episodes i;m desperate to find out the rest of the story. also out of interest how often does the archive get updated? :D
P.S. i'm sorry i can;t spell.

Hi!
I'm new here, and discovered recently Eatv on winampTV... well what can I say but it sure is one of my favorite channels?
In fact... that's the only one I watch, otherwise I just listen to music with my player ^_^
The animes shown are great, like so many people said, and I'm particularly enjoying Saikano, for the story is surprisingly touching (If it wasnt my curiosity, I would have stopped watching after the first few minutes :P), the music is sooo sweet and I'm so longing to watch the last episode (yeah, there are only 13) :)
So I dared take the oportunity to vote too, gomen, and you may guess it, for Saikano :P
Otherwise, Tsukihime having good elements, I'm longing to see it's plot unfold a little bit more before being able to give an opinion about it, and otherwise, FMA seems to have every aspects of great anime series like Naruto and such :)

Yes, it's a pretty sad story, but still it's also a very nice one (because it's sad? lol)
Lol it is pure coincidence, but Kanashimi means "Sorrow" in japanese... O_o
But dont be fooled, I'm the average pretty happeh anime fan kind! XD

Me, i'd vote for something like Battle Programmer Shirase.
I've seen some of this on japanese internetTV, though my knowledge of the language is limited, the series looks good.
I wish there were more episodes of Dragon Half though. Why did they finish it after two episodes?
Christopher
04-12-2004, 11:26 PM
once we are able to air anything the evangelion movies would be great
Wait, is dragon half licensed? I thought it was. I'll have to look into it later, as I'd love to broadcast such a good series :D

Hi i'm very new to all this and i noticed your selection and was wondering what other animes you plan on having ?
also i think hellsing, on after hours to avoid small children seeing it. maybe nge, or how about a anime movie like a special show or something a movie like say street fighter or something?
jackbassv
04-15-2004, 06:24 PM
Have to agree with eleiMiShill, Midori No Hibi (Day of Midori) is great.
The First time he has to Pee is really funny!
Is midori no hibi in anime form!?!? Woots!! :D
Remember, we can't show things that are licensed in America! Hellsing is for sure, not certain about the others :)

I can confirm.. It was playing in "Anime HQ" Winamp ITV channel. In the morning (here) but I cannot say the exact hour. Perhaps 11.00 (so in USA should be 3.00AM)
jackbassv
04-16-2004, 01:48 PM
Midori No Hibi is NOT licenced in the states. It's only just been released on DVD in Japan.
Take a look in Newtype USA for more details.
There are a few anime that i'd like to see in their Japan release list that haven't made it out of japan yet.
OK, I love romcom anime, but i'd like to see some of the more unusual releases which will never make it to either the US or UK.
Looks like the first two are on animesuki. I'll have to pull them down once my bittorrent is working again :)

Hi all i'd like to add a comment, i understand u cant show anything with a license cus legal action could be taken etc, but what about listing all animes with out licenses then people can vote etc, if this has already been said plz direct me to the post
thank you
No, this has not been suggested yet.
Right now we're focusing on getting more out of what we've started though :)
jackbassv
04-19-2004, 03:46 AM
This sounds like a good idea Darkhorse, but it's really impratical.
Over 100 new anime are released in Japan every year, most of which are pretty poor. So the list is likely to involve a lot of work for something that's out of date before it's finished.
It's better to suggest a title after checking the licence situation.
Two of us suggested Midori No Hibi after watching it on Internet TV in japanese (no subs). Now it may be coming to EATV :D. I know that this series is currently unlicenced, because it's only just come out in japan.
Christopher
04-19-2004, 03:21 PM
will it have subs for us?, because through careful listening I have only learned 3-4 words in jap so cant handle the massive translation
Walrii
04-19-2004, 06:22 PM
Sometimes I try to watch anime in its original japanese, and I always turn it back to English (DVDs) after about 3 minutes of watching :(
I can however, recognize a few words too :)
DangerousDan

04-20-2004, 07:05 AM
That the way I prefer it.
Alot of the jokes get changed when translated, mostly to psudo-funny american versions!
Christopher
04-20-2004, 03:13 PM
often there is reason to change the jokes, the asian humor is very different from ours, so we would likey fail to understand at all the joke, but i think in truth we can handle it, they just dont wanna give credit where its due
jackbassv
04-20-2004, 07:19 PM
Actually the humour in japan is very simlar to that of us brits B)
It seems to be the americans who find the jokes obscure.
DangerousDan
04-20-2004, 07:35 PM
Humor, whether its cultural, political or situational. You have to know the elements to understand it. Such as some jokes in the Simpsons, someone in europe watching it, would not fully understand.
jackbassv
04-20-2004, 08:30 PM
Personnally, I don't have problems with cultural jokes in anime and they rarely put political joke in.
Okay, the latter is a lie, but they tend to be satirical jokes about the current (at the time of animation) government, rather than individuals.
Christopher
04-20-2004, 08:35 PM
i think they insinuate that american humor is warped, but if so its due to our excessive brain washing
DangerousDan
04-20-2004, 09:39 PM
I think that humor is universal, and can be accepted widely if everyone took it for what it was and not to take it personally. Being able to laugh at yourself can be a relief.

Now that Saikano is being removed and Fullmetal Alchemist is now licensed, I think it would be nice if the remaining 7 episodes of Tsukihime were played. And maybe also if at some point the 4th episode also, since for the last two days it hasn't been aired.
Very good point Enkidu! I'll have to see about re-downloading tsukihime onto my laptop if it hasn't already been converted!
I'll see about fixing the fourth episode as well. Thanks for pointing that out :)

I would have rather saw the end of Tsukihime, but I decided to dl all of them through bittorrent. Just finished watching them today, and I have to say it was a pretty awesome series, though short (a good short though, w/o the unnecessary filler episodes or other crap). Therefore, the more the full metal alchemist, the merrier (for me). Episode 24 would be nice, but oh well.

Okay, we may be a bit of an exageration, but I want it
And BPS ;)
Due to the fact that all the anime you have streaming now is lisenced exept Planetes i think the search for more unlisenced anime should begin.
My first recommendation would be Airmaster. Airmaster is a very good anime that is greatly under rated making it a great target for streaming. Since it is a little know anime the odds of it being lisenced are very slim. heres a site with some info on it http://animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=82.
I hope you take this into consideration.

It's by Madhouse Studios, who did Cardcaptor Sakura, Sakura Wars and Di Gi Charat <_< think I made a mistake mentioning that last one ;)

...Just a personal request, but I'd like to see Rockman EXE Axess. It's kinda kiddy, but I like it... If anything get the fake fansub of Episode 11 Wolf Pack Productions did. Its freaking HILLARIOUS. They're on my fserve on the channel if you need them, Sim. And just in case, no, it's NOT licensed. The original EXE is though, as that craptastic NT Warrior dub. But Axess isn't.

Rockman's alternative name is >
Megaman
For more info look at ANN (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=2982)'s page for it.

...Indeed.
Wolf Pack Productions have the best fansub. Every other version I've seen is... erhm...
Anyway, again, I have them on my fserve. Also, you can go to #wolfpackproductions on Zirc and speak to the subbers there. My suggestion is talk to Plagued One, since I know him from Aniverse on #rockmanexeonline.

I voted other.
What I would like to see is Legend of the Condor Heros (anime not LA).
I am not sure if all the episodes have been fansubbed, but I know I can't buy a subbed version.
I looked, and didn't see legend on animesuki.com, is it licensed? Remember, we can't show licensed content. :(

Its there, but its listed as just Condor Hero.
Here is the link (http://www.rpguru.com/series.php/79.html)
And it appears that 23 of the 26 eps have been subbed.
Thanks, I'll try and get it downloaded sometime this week :)

Okay, you're getting Midori No Hibi
But try these as well:
Marie-Sama Ga Miteru (Marie-Sama watches over you)
Natsuiro no Sunadokei (Hourglass of Summer Colours)
The latter is a sorta cross between Quantum Leap and Kanon (!?)
It looks like it may only be two epsisodes long (only one trans so far :(), but it's still quite good.

hmm. Old fart becoming a new guy again.
Howdy all
after seeing all the other posts, i'll drop in my 2 cents.
Hellsing's being shown repeatedly on the Desync Winamp channels,
24/7 all 13 episodes.
Wolfpack's rockman.exe's were good, as well as most of thier others,
untill recently... the releases in the last month or so are in a diffrent
codec, and unplayable unless yer a pro vid hacker.
it would be nice to see lots of shows here, but all the good one's are licenced.
like Dragon Drive, Trigun, or Chrno Crusade.
or there's always LA bl... . . sorry got distracted..
lol
Nothing licensed, and nothing hentai :P
Natsuiro no Sunadokei (Hourglass of Summer Colours) looks especially interesting. Looks like its got a strong premise.
On animesuki (http://animesuki.com/series.php/424.html) in seems that it's being released in OVAs, and very slowly at that. This didn't get canceled, did it?
Lately, I've been watching (& reading) the Crest of the Stars series, but it's ashame I can't broadcast that since it's licensed. (I do love boxtorrents ;) )

It's only got two parts, and the second isn't released in japan until early July!
Hopefully, there will be a TV version later :)
I finally solved the Ogg Media problem, and can now watch I, Me, My, Strawberry Egg :P If you think the names a bit wierd, in japanese the Strawberry Egg part becomes Tamago Ichigo, which at least rhymes :P
Gonna watch Maria-sama ga Miteru again :) I just love the relationship between Yumi and Sachiko :D

Jack,
I didnt expect the show to have any sex in it. Sometimes just an insinuation is enough. ;) I have not seen any hentai series yet, I have heard that the black bible is really weird and good from a bunch of people.

Maison Ikkoku is 98 episodes :D
Sailor Moon is a couple of hundred ;)
Okay, the latter isn't to everyones taste - Even I hate the US edited dub

But for me so far the good ones ended too early :(
Yes, Shinesman ("Gray is good!") and Elf Princess Rane are both only two episodes, and deserve far more!

Violinist of Hameln seems like it was made in powerpoint. It's very slideshow-ish. Nothing against the story or anything, but it can be difficult to watch. Though it might not be very bandwidth intensive that way :D

11-28-2004, 05:44 PM
Truth be told, i couldn't stand 2 minutes of watching Yugo. Most likely cause i found it boring and slowpaced. I rather see Genshiken (very funny anime) or Monster
oOo, I don't think I've heard of genshiken. If it's unlicensed, I'll have to look out for it :)
Taco_Hell
12-02-2004, 03:01 PM
Yeah its unlicensed, Anime-Faith and Solar are doing the subs of it. Its basicly an anime about otakus with alot of humor in it, the thing thats cool about it is it also has a show inside of it in which most of the otakus there love. In fact when the dvds come out they are going to do three episodes of that show to go with the dvd of Genshiken
Ok, I'm downloading it now :)
Actually doing a bunch of anime downloads now, and was looking for something good, so this was good timing! :D
Mmm, I'm really enjoying it so far (Just finished episode 3) :)
It's great to see anime fans in an anime, even if they are a bit... unusual.... :P

True, you can't go wrong with otakus, especially with those that explain every little thing about what they do with some huge explaination that really has nothing to do with that they are trying to say.
Yes, I love the huge explanations justifying otakudom that almost seem to make sense :P

I look forward to more episodes. When I get around to converting some more anime, this is on the list :)

Now i'm angry, Media Factory Inc, the studio that does Genshiken made Anime Suki to take down all their links as well as any other show they have their. Also Scary Water took down all the torrent links as well. Thats not right man
Gah, that's terrible. That means we probably aren't supposed to air it :(
Perhaps that means it's coming to an American audience, but it certainly won't be on the networks, what with some of the content.
As for what's next? Hmm, I'll finish up what I have of Guruguru this weekend, and begin encoding something new. Not sure what :(
Taco_Hell
12-11-2004, 11:39 PM
They probably did it because some idiot sent an e-mail and in it somewhere sayd that they download it from Anime Suki. Thats the only way they could have found out. I don't think its going to be licensed any time soon probably in 6 or so months, like with Midori No Hibi.
Well, the licensing companies are smarter than we give them credit. Though it certainly could have been a tip off. (which is probably where they heard about it in the first place).
Speaking of which, the MPAA is now going to bring suit against companies hosting movie bittorrent trackers (but not against the individual downloaders (yet)).
Taco_Hell
12-16-2004, 03:22 AM
Really? first time i'v heard of that. Well i'm just glad one of the groups is continuing with Genshiken, theres not much more to go, i also don't think they will bring it here since most of those stuff have to do with japanese culture and stuff.
Not much more to go? Is it only 12 episodes? :(
Taco_Hell
12-17-2004, 02:51 AM
Yup, thats a good thing! It can be finished before its licensed. Also ep 8 just came out, and truthfully i don't see the difference between that one and the rest, which is a good thing
Hmm, I *suppose* that's a good thing. Still, I'd rather have a longer series and have to go to a little more trouble to get it :P

That was my thought...

Hmm, are you getting these off kazaa or emule or something? Boxtorrents perhaps? I thought they were pulled from Animesuki.
They did pull it from AnimeSuki due to a request from Media something. I hasnt been licensed for american distropution yet. Only one fansubber is still fansubbing it but the others have quit.
Hmm, so where are you getting it from then? ;)
Taco_Hell
01-14-2005, 12:41 AM
You know, you should really check the fansubber's siter for once Sim. Go here Anime-faith (http://www.anime-faith.com) are the fansubbers who were doing it before, with cooperation with Solar, but since solar droped the project, Anime-Faith kept it coming and frankly i don't see any difference.

Of all of those the only ones i know about is Daeremon, which is like a 70's kid show pretty much. Say Sim, could the one you are going to show next be Beck? i know its not Genshiken because of the thing Media whaetever did, even though it dosen't really apply to you since your not giving the bittorrents its still scary.
Suggestions for anime should really go in the latest what's new thread. Having said that, I'm going to take a look at ocha-ken first, followed by MAICO which my roommate and I have been watching.

Yes, it's a shame. The people who make the anime, spending hours upon hours for every minute of precious cartoon we are receiving, want to gain some money for this work. Now poor us, we have to pay for it :(. I can understand some people being upset at the quality of a dub, but not the fact that it is liscenced. And, if you don't like the dub, you can still get a subbed version from a DVD. As for love hina, it is Liscenced.
Walrii
03-07-2005, 02:33 PM
Yeah well, licensed doesn't always mean impossible to get for free...
Although, EATV is legal, and so doesn't show licensed shows (like Love Hina).
You should support anime and buy it.
You should NOT go to boxtorrents.com and download it for free.
