Moving This Weekend

I'm finally moving to Indiana this weekend. I probably won't be very active until everything is settled. Don't worry though, it shouldn't take too long. :)

Whew! I'm back, and everything is relatively stable now.
If you're wondering why it took so long, it's because I got here Sunday night, and went back to Ohio for 4 days because I had to play a show with my band.

The show went alright, but the 4 days were pretty boring because there was no computer or TV in my house. Needless to say, I slept a lot.

Anyway, it's nice to be back!

If I want to add to reputation I should be allowed to. I thought about -10ing Travis for being mean, but that would have been mean too, so I gave someone points (a good thing) as a joke towards Travis... Heck, I'm willing to bet Travis did it as a joke in the first place.

I'm not -10ing you (even though I really want to), because otherwise this "war" you speak of (invented!?) might never stop :(

Edit 2: After I thought about it for a while, I realized that you're entirely wrong. It's up to me as much as any other user to decide reputation! That's what the reputation system is designed to do... Give a rating of a user's "reputation" based on the opinions of other users on the site. What good is the system if users are punished for thinking "There was nothing wrong with that comment, and I think that user doesn't deserve to lose points for saying it" and then posting accordingly? Am I missing the point?

Also, I'm sorry, but I (like a lot of people) tend to get very defensive when people punish me for reasons that I don't understand / agree with.

lol! Wonderful! Yes, yes... I was only joking around. So, on that note, let's not get all uppity about this.

Insane's not actually wrong, rm... in a sense. And that sense is that there should never be any meta-level reasoning for affecting someone's reputation. That is, reputation shouldn't be adjusted just because you disagree with someone's reasoning for adding or removing reputation. The reason for this is just as you and Insane both said... it starts wars.

Now, under that criteria, Insane's re-adjustmet of Shadow's rep was just as bad, though I'm certain he was working under the assumption that his adustment only nullifies your adjustment. Do two wrongs make a right here? Better question: How serious are we going to take this?

Here's what I propose...
Shadow? You answer that above question. You're the one whose rep has been affected through our actions. Do you think that we should just laugh and forget about this? Or would you like for us to consider this matter formally?

Did he -10 Shadow again? All I know is that he -10'd me... I can't see what he did to Shadow. Like I said above, I get really aggrivated / defensive when I perceive that I am being "attacked" for something that to me seems entirely justified. One reason I hate forums is the delayed response time... It makes me have to simmer and get really worked up waiting for a response, whereas in IRC disagreements last about 30 seconds because of instant feedback :(

As for starting wars, it seemed to be an open and shut deal until Insane came and -10'd it and proclaimed it a war... That's how I see it. Just trying to get everything out that I can think of right now so I don't get all simmery again... Blegh, forum drama. >_>

Amni? Did I ever say that we would discuss this publicly? I only asked Shadow if he thinks this is a big deal, and clearly he doesn't. If he had, we would certainly discuss this as staff.

Actually, all I did was -10 to rm. While there is an admin option to edit reputation directly, (i.e. manipulate like Big Grother which rm might have thought I was doing) I wasn't out to "fix" things. I just -10'd rm because I thought that his reputation giving was in bad taste. Travis wanted to -10 because whatever reason, it wasn't up to you to reverse those effects. If you didn't like what Travis did, -10 Travis.

And don't rant about me in the forums, send me a PM. Jeesh :-p
