I don't know much about this movie other than it is computer generated, which I don't really think is a terrible choice. Other people have different opinions on the matter.
Discussions? I found some neat poster crops from the usual desktop place to start things off.

That's pretty sweet, the old ones where they dressed up in suits was really bad looking but I still enjoyed them. Computer made looks great though :D.

I think it looks cool. It's certainly taking the look of the recent games and TV show, I believe (though I haven't really kept up with this, so I'm not sure what constitutes the newest series).
As always, I will take my stance on action/superhero movies: Essentially, I expect a plot riddled with holes and cheesy dialogue, but with good action and characters that - if flawed or imperfect - still do a decent job at representing their counterpart in the comic/cartoon/game/etc.
Good examples include: Superman Returns, the X-Men movies, Spiderman (the first movie)
Bad examples include: Super Mario Bros., Street Fighter, and the second Spiderman movie

Blade 2 was a good storyline in my opinion, but the bad CG riddled that movie, and there was too much of it.
Superman Returns had CG, and good CG. It wasn't terribly intrusive, and that is what makes it work.

There was a Street Fighter movie? I might have seen it..goes back to the old days when I watched the Mortal Kombat's if I have or not, can't remeber if I have or not! UGH! I better go rent it and refresh my memory. I liked the Street Fighter games, so I will probably like movie even if its bad, and I have never seen the Super Mario Bros. movie..lol..from what you're saying I don't want to either.
There was a Street Fighter movie. There was also a movie called The Street Fighter staring Sonny Chiba and was the first film in the US to recieve an X rating for violence alone.
The screens remind of the Franklin cartoon and book series. Still could end up being rather cool.

Will I have to know anything about the show to enjoy the movie? As Amni is already painfully aware, I was never introduced to the TMNT when I was a kid, and thus never knew what they were till this year when Amni and my other roommate inherited some kind of dome thing from the show... Technodome or something? Anyways, it seems funny, and I imagine they will be going to see it when it comes out :P

The Technodrome? AGGGGGGHHHH!!! You're killing me, rm!
Did your parents hate you or something? I mean, I certainly can't blame them (:P), but seriously... no Ninja Turtles? WOW! Just... wow! You poor, poor thing.
I cannot speak for this new movie, but there's not a whole lot of background you need for TMNT. Essentially they're turtles. Turtles who happen to be ninjas. And Mutants. Oh, and they're in their teens. So, um... basically they're awesome.

Wow, poor rm, just wow. I was introduced to TMNT when I was like..what 2? lol. The games are fun as heck to. The old ones seem kinda better than the new ones of today to me. TMNT 2 for SNES was the best one I think. Fun.

Lol, I didn't really know about TMNT for quite a long time, still didn't really like it. Still, I would expect the movie to be full of one liners about everything.
My parents wouldn't let me watch TMNT. They thought it was too violent. And yet they would let me watch John Wayne movies. Not much of a violence difference there. I still was able to watch it every once in awhile ;) On another note the best TMNT game was TMNT II.

I'm looking forward to it...mainly for the same reason as Travis. It should be a cheesy-ish plot, with funny scenes, good action sequences, etc.

And that is what TMNT is all about!

Bah you non-believers! (I forgive your ignorance rm).
The trailer looked pretty good (graphics wise) and I like that they retained a cartoony sense of humor (which basically fits TMNT to a glove).
The plot will probably be pretty standard for a TMNT movie / thing (I bet on Shredder being a villain), but TMNT has excellent characters (seriously!) so, it could turn out to be pretty good.
Each of the brother's has a different personality, and, I dare say the group dynamics are rather complex!
As for cheesy plots, shame shame. TMNT has excellent plots, but it is a cartoon (well, a comic) so things don't make sense sometimes :)

The only reason they added so much was because Wesley Snipes is getting old.
TF2=NO! Darn cartoon graphics :|. Plus playing in a group from what I saw. Waste of money! :p
No cartoon graphics for an already cartooney game, but you approve of the cartoon graphics on a previously-uncartooned movie?
The TMNT 2 I was referring to was the one for NES.

I always thought it was amazing that the actors could move around in those giant rubber turtle suits.

That was a great game. I had the first and second ones before my brother took the NES to his house.

How do you explain the awesomeness of Blade 3? :-p

Wait, I thought it was an animated series orignally... Was it seriously live action? I don't even see how that would be possible :P

rm: Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TMNT)?
Originally a comic, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was then produced into a cartoon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teenage_Mutant_Ninja_Turtles_%281987_TV_series%29) - which is the work with which most of us are most familiar.
Due to the popularity of the cartoon, 3 movies were produced... Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teenage_Mutant_Ninja_Turtles_%28film%29), TMNT 2: The Secret of the Ooze (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teenage_Mutant_Ninja_Turtles_II:_The_Secret_of_the _Ooze), and TMNT 3 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teenage_Mutant_Ninja_Turtles_III). As mentioned, all are live-action with actors in rubber suits.
Clear things up?

Travis, your post is fine except for one point...
...all are live-action with actors in ridiculous (yet well crafted) rubber suits.

The graphics didn't in the movie didn't look like cartoonish to me..but if you think that ok..I don't care for super cartoony games (sorry)

Yeah, the Live action movies were awesome, I loved them. Of course, they're 80s-tastic...but still fabulous :)

I had all three of them on VHS. At some point in time, I lost the first one, but realized that I still had the cover for it... oh well.

The local video rental store by me has one of them for sale for $3 dollars. Not sure if should buy though, could be all crappy when it plays, you know how tapes get. The fuzz stuff that goes down the screen.

It's called tracking, Shadowfox. You can fix that! :p
Shadowfox
01-11-2007, 10:52 AM
Yes, I know. Some of the old tapes my dad has from like the 80's and stuff sometimes won't fix. If they still have it I will probably get it when I go there again then.

They were awesome when I was younger... not that they're not awesome anymore... just don't expect it to be the best movie you've ever seen or anything.
I would and do still recommend them.

But from the previews I've seen of the movie, it looks also to be awesome...but awesome now! :)
