Someone has also seemed to make a page on the internet about it, the link is given in the comments, but for those who don't want to read the comments for some reason -Site (http://www.hoax-slayer.com/bush-hid-the-facts-notepad.html)-

"open notepad
type "bush hid the facts" without quotation marks
don't press "enter" save the file
close notepad
open the file again"

From the -site- link that Neo put there. I've heard of it before. It's fun...Not really. I just did it.

Don't ever show these people the Hall of Tortured Souls (http://www.eeggs.com/items/719.html) in Excel '95.

PS - Someone should youtube this Microsoft easter egg. It's certainly a lot more interesting. :P

Pythagora

Wow, that Excel one is way more interesting.

Yeah, Hall of Tortured Souls FTW.

I can't think of a better easter egg. Right now, anyways. I know there is one with System Clock's Time Zone map.

There was an interactive racing game in one of the versions of Excel, I believe :P I played that for a while ^_^

I'm curious as to what causes the glitch in notepad and if there are any other phrases that'll cause it.

I remember one glitch where when you were restarting on an old windows, it would have some count down, if you were to then change the time on the computer, the time of which it would restart/shut down would change, theres a YTMND page about it.

It's a Windows 98 easter egg. I tested it with WinXP, no go.

Info here. (http://fliptech.net/win98egg.shtml)

The only one like that I saw was Novell forcing a computer to shutdown after you use the kernel to stop on of its services. The timer changes with the time change, up to 364 days.

It definatly works too.

You have excel 97?

temasongu
01-15-2007, 06:36 PM
CTRL+SHIFT+F10: the easiest way to win any hand of FreeCell.

X, Y, Z, Z, Y, ENTER, SHIFT+ENTER: Enter this code and the top left most pixel on your screen will turn black whenever your cursor hovers over a mine. (applies to Windows 3.1 and earlier versions only)

Wow, if I ever get my old machine running again, I'm going to try all these. It runs Windows '95 I think.

BrokenTripod

I have Excel 97. Yes.

Also, the FreeCell and Minesweeper one work in WinXP. I don't remember if that's the exact same code for minesweeper, though...

Cool kids don't need cheats for minesweeper :p

Oh, go play Dark 3, I mean Doom, or whatever. Back in the day, we had Skifree and Minesweeper and we loved it. Of course, you were still a thought in your Dad's pants back then, Pyth.

neozf
01-16-2007, 10:16 AM
Lol Insane, and, skifree? That game where you use your mouse to move and go down the hill, then some snow monster eats you?

You're forgetting Hotrod and Simcity...

Also, I hope you have fun reminiscing about "back in the day" when I take your job and shuttle you off to the old folk's home. :P

neozf
01-17-2007, 03:27 PM
mmm Simcity, I have that for the Snes and I think the PC somewhere.
Whats Hotrod?

Pythagora
01-17-2007, 03:40 PM
Hotrod was some lame (cool) racing game where you start off buying some crummy car and racing for money or pink slips, until you get enough money for "your dream car". It's a really old game that came with one of our computers.

p.s. Anyone remember SimFarm?

neozf
01-17-2007, 03:47 PM
SimFarm? Maybe, I've got one called SimSheep though lol.

Pythagora
01-17-2007, 04:48 PM
Wow, SimSheep? What's that like?

Shadowfox
01-17-2007, 05:44 PM
SimFarm? I just remebered, I have Simcity 2000 sitting in my computer room here lol, was never too big on it, but my grandpa just gave it to me so yea. Funny how this thread went from glitches to games.

SimAnt, anyone?!

This cheat was great for showing off to your friends. People thought you were some kind of minesweeper deity when you played a custom game with 99 mines and one free space and never missed, or played the hard levels in seconds. Too bad they got rid of it <_<

p.s. Anyone remember SimFarm?
SimAnt, anyone?!

I do! Both were great games! :D

You can get SimFarm here (http://www.the-underdogs.info/game.php?id=985) now that it's considered abandonware.

Hey peoples, I'm using Win XP and the Minesweeper glitch STILL WORKS.

So like, yeah. Try it!

And yeah, it's quite hard to actually USE it in an actual game...It looks really obvious that you're cheating. ><

I think BT is making things up, or he forgot he's running windows 3.1 :P

I'd verify this, but can't find Minesweeper anywhere in my start menu

/me opens up his computer to find...WOAH, he IS running Win 3.1! And so is Pyth!

Hah. kidding. It works fine on mine. Neo, maybe you're not looking hard enough at the pixels in the top right of the screen..? Or you missed a step?

Pythagora

It is very very tiny... which is why it's kind of obvious that you're cheating.
