I wonder if this really fits in the Dev Talk board.
To be honest, you made me shudder at "bleach or naruto". Er, however for animation I would recommend using Flash. It may take some time getting used to, why not upload some examples of stuff you have drawn?

Yeah, Flash may not be what REAL animators use, but its a great middle step. It's what most web based animators use. And let's face it, you're not going to be publishing your stuff on TV (at least not yet :-)), but you can show it off on the Internet to everyone.

Heck, you can even upload it to EditingArchive for us to see (remember to include a thumbnail!).

Accually i appriciate your advice and all but I just recieved a notice today and Shonen is going to publish me in 2008 ( I recieved this notice way after i posted the topic).. I'm still at a lose on how to animate it.. I can pay whatever the price is for programs..

I saw this (http://www.e-frontier.com/article/articleview/1914/1/794?sbss=794) in a Target one day. It looks like it's for American-ish cartoons, but it sure is better than Flash for Anime. $600 cheaper too.

w00t, 100 posts! :D

Welcome to The Archive; sounds like a neat project

Flash might not be a bad program to use - at least one anime series has used it as their primary tool, but it's pretty rare. I think artists used cell plates with frame by frame cameras and other physical techniques (see this store (http://www.chromacolour.com/store/digital_animation_usa.htm)), but I think there has been a movement to digital. Maybe this product (http://www.toonboom.com/main/) is what you're looking for? Combine's looks pretty promising, too (+10). I'd look into general 2D digital animation techniques on google -- the software should be the same between all genres of 2D animation, and you probably won't get many hits specific to Anime.

You may also want to consider Blender - it's free (open source) and can generate impressive cel-shaded graphics and animations. But its workflow is 3D, not 2D.

Good luck with your project! Keep us posted here.

No problem. Let us know how it goes. When you finish, we'll be interested in reviewing it for EATV broadcast :)
