Something I started last night, basically, a few days ago I had an idea of being able to use the guitar hero controller thingy to be able to play music. By using the buttons like binary (1,2,4,8,16) it's possible to play 32 different notes, the note's values are written on the program and are displayed while using it, so far I've only tested it with the 360's guitar controller since I don't have a PS2 one, although if someone could try it with the PS2 one (if it uses a USB to connect) that would be helpful.

I chose the name "Dark Guitar" because it's written in DarkBasic.

To use it you just have to plug the guitar controller into your PC and run the program, to play the notes you need to hold down the fret button(s) and move the strum bar up or down.
There are still a few things to work on, like currently you have to let go of the strum bar to be able to play a different note, so you can't just hold it down then press different buttons.

Uhh Neo unless you count no buttons being pressed as a note, you can only do 31 different notes.

Truth.

But that sounds like to would be an awesome game. I've always wanted to make a game that uses a real guitar with a tuner hooked up to the PC, and it would require you to play REAL notes.

Sim, tell Midway to buy the idea from me.

Yea, pressing no buttons is included.

Neo: I got a chance to try that out in person. It's pretty neat, and surprisingly intuitive. :)

Yeah, too bad I though of the idea around Guitar Hero 2 and I didn't work in the game industry then. :-p
