I'll try to explain as best as I can.
I need a few people (2-4) to help me test my game mechanics that I've been working on. They are mainly going to be used for my RPG Game/Battle Engine but can also be used in a DnD type game. They are based on a Final Fantasy DnD game I played once (but it died :/).

How the testing would work:
I'm currently thinking of using some kind of voice chat program (Like Vent or TeamSpeak) for communication and MoonEdit to keep track of things like character sheets. Basically, I'll try to go though some mock battles and some other things, and if anything seems unclear tell me and I'll note it down and explain it. Also some of it may need to be balanced which I'm bad at.
Anyone interested or have any questions?

I'm rather unpredictably busy right now and I have a horrible microphone. Sorry.

Once you do this initial playtesting, if you type up the rules, I'd be glad to read them and give you some feedback!

I would help out as well, but not for a while. Graduating college is tough work ;)

Sounds like a neat idea for rapid prototyping. Good luck with the project, Neo. Definitely post results up here :)

Most of what I have done is on there, I also have it in a .doc file if you want.

Edit: I got a wiki like page for it :D

Cool. I read through it. Most of it makes sense / is a slight variation on DnD.

I liked that your starting element restricts what you can do until you get powerful enough. For example, starting at fire you can't access water for a while since it is its opposite.

I didn't understand the cartridge part. I imagined a cartridge as like a magazine of bullets so I don't see why the magazine's size is affected by the damge of the bullets in it.

I really liked the upgrade system for making weapons deal more damage.

The cartridge part I kind of "borrowed" from Nanoha A's.
Cartridge system
Cartridges are capsules (shaped like blank rifle rounds) containing compressed magical energy. When used in a device, it releases that energy all at once, providing a significant boost in power.I also used cartridges for my version of Battle when I programmed it in Java in which they were used instead of MP. Although now it's more like an instant buff to deal extra damage if you hit. The weapons size affects how many cartridges can be loaded at once.

I added slightly more to it. Spells can now be charged :D
