I don't know how many people use them, but could we reduce the minimum word size for forum tags from 3 to 2 characters?

I know this sounds incredibly short, but "E3" is not a valid tag according to the system.

Problem: Might this also require changes to minimum search term lengths?

Wow, the tag cloud (http://forums.editingarchive.com/tags.php) indicates our coverage are discussions are biased towards... cheese :P

I propose that tags have some sort of Archive Point value... like 1/2 or 1/3 of an actual post's value, but some value > 0 nonetheless!

Interesting idea; I'd like to encourage tagging, but only tags that make sense. I don't want a bunch of cheese (http://forums.editingarchive.com/tags.php?tag=cheese) tags. :P

And maybe some sort of encouragement for using the bookmarks feature, too? Though that has the same problem tagging does...

Perhaps it's possible that the cheese tag is a greater conspiracy within the Archive. Who knows.
