Not sure who's heard of this, but thought I'd pass it along. It is Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog (http://www.drhorrible.com/), a web mini-series directed by Joss Whedon - creator of Firefly/Serenity. The series follows the adventures of Dr. Horrible, evil genius, as he attempts at infamy... and love. It's a great and funny show, and people should check it out.
It seems as though he created it, funded with his own money, during the writer's strike. The show comprises 3 episodes, roughly 13 min. in length each. It'll be free until Sunday, July 20th (that's this Sunday, folks - so watch it NOW), and afterward it'll be purchasable for a "nominal fee" before release on DVD w/ presumably tons of extras.
Did I mention it's a Super-Villain Musical?

Yes, Neo. Sorry, my schedule's a little wack right now... I'm not lining dates with days very well. It has been corrected.

Ahh man. Missed it. I'll have to check it out though. The world needs more musicals.
This sounds like my kind of musical. I'll be Netflix'ing it for sure when it comes to DVD :)

A mad scientist musician taking over the world? Why does that sound familiar (http://worlddominationtoys.com/drsteel/enter.html)... ?

Don't know what you're talking about, Flaw. Never heard of that guy before. And also, Dr. Horrible is not a musician. His blog, however is a musical. Very much not the same thing, but I can see how that'd be confusing.
Also, apparently it is back up for free viewing for some indeterminate period of time, so yeah... WATCH IT ALREADY!
[And a 4th episode is planned, but no details thus far. Woo!]
I've seen the first three episodes and can definitely agree that this series is awesome. If the DVD includes more than three five-minute episodes, I'll be buying it :)

Correction: 3 fifteen(-ish)-minute episodes, totaling roughly 42 minutes of Dr. Horrible awesomeness. If you haven't checked up on the few DVD details released thus far, it will have a musical commentary, called "Commentary!" and... I forget what else. Point is, people should support this, as it is awesome.
I wouldn't be surprised if this "4th episode" finds its way onto the DVD, but the one feature that my girlfriend and I have discussed that absolutely needs to be on there is a Karaoke mode. Yes, yes... subtitles will do in a pinch, but they really need the timed subtitles (and maybe bouncing ball or whatever) that Karaoke has, so you can follow along properly. That alone would make the DVD worth buying.
But really, for a 42 minute show? They're going to have to toss in a ton of extras to justify a DVD release, and I'm sure Joss Whedon will not disappoint. That's my theory, at least.

RESURRECTION!
I noticed that we can now all watch Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog by going to: http://www.hulu.com/dr-horribles-sing-along-blog
It's ad supported (ads are fairly rare though) and streams at a very nice quality. In general, Hulu.com is awesome.
Very cool! Needs a new episode though... ;)

Yes, Hulu is awesome, and they have been the hosts of Dr. Horrible since all 3 segments were released.
Nobody (except the modem-dwellers) has any excuse not to watch it.

Hulu is not awesome, people outside the US can't use it. Thankfully I found another source, although I don't think I'm allowed to say what it was ;)
