Well, it's older than my other one, but it's better.
The HD for it clunked out so I had to get a new one, it uses ATA so I thought, why not just buy an adapter and get a SATA HD, more space for the same price. So after finally getting the adapter I got round to setting it all up.

After I stopped failing I got it working and started updating, getting drivers and other programs I need.

Finally done and I now have a decent PC with a 1TB HD.
127GB of it was automatically partitioned for Windows, and I partitioned another 250GB for games and for fun.
Just need to get another adapter and I can put my old HD in, there's a spare slot that's being used by a floppy disk drive.
Hooray new PC~

Wait, so you've got ~600gb not even partitioned yet? Wow :P

Yeah, it's fun having more space than you think you could ever need :D

I've got a 1TB SATA HD all in one partition, where all my games, applications, and general stuff goes. All of my Steam games are installed, and every other game I own (~60 I think?). And plenty of development stuff for my Uni course, of course ;)
Still have another 750GB to fill :)

Then there's my 120GB HD with XP's page file, and Windows 7 RC on it. And 75GB of unallocated space XD

Aaand finally my 40GB HD with XP and another 20GB unallocated.

I'm sure I'll need to allocate them eventually :)

I actually gave one of my drives away to my gf because I was so not using it. And I should probably shift around my partitions a bit so I can use one of my 500GB drives as a shared space between Windows and Linux.

I think we're getting to a point where the advances in hard drive storage is starting to outpace the advances in that with which we can fill them. I guess you could always jump to storing a bunch of HD video on your computer, but honestly... I've only known one person that has ever gone to such lengths.

Speaking of rm... this thread is just asking for him to come in and start talking about his storage solution. Good thing he doesn't visit the forums.

Need to get Fallout 3 to play online. Have not tried Left for Dead yet. Sounds promising.

(In other news, Fyre usually being the one BEHIND on hardware, is now also rocking a new PC and you guys who know me will not believe its got an intel processor (E6600) and nVidia GTX 280 SLI graphics! I feel odd without my typical AMD/ATi make up =/)

Also Hi archive!

Woah! Welcome back Fyre :)

And congrats on joining us on the dark side (although, I actually bought an AMD processor recently for my media center. :P)

Wow, and here I am with a 80GB hard drive; 25GB(12 free) for Root(/apps), 30GB(10 free) for Home, and 12GB(3 free) for whatever else I really don't want to lose if I have to reinstall my OS(which usually only happens when I'm adventurous... wow, I spelled it correctly. :D).

Oh, and I have another 7GB partition used for installing other operating systems which I want to test out, 500MB swap, and 200MB (just in case) boot. Right now I have Ubuntu 9.04 installed as my main OS, and Fedora 11 is being tested out.

As a side note: I have an AMD AM2 Athlon 64 X2 2GHz processor, and nVidia 7100 (off brand) video card. Not having any problems with the video card, but I'm starting to think I should have gotten an ATI video card....

Er... I dunno, Sim. Since AMD bought out ATI, they've been better about supporting their chips in Linux. Not sure if they'll go all the way to open source drivers, but it seems quite possible. For more information, check google (http://lmgtfy.com/?q=ATI+Linux).

Ah, neat. I'm still not going to get an ATI card, but at least they're making an effort.
