oh i remeber hearing about it some where but i forgot what it was, i have half life but i have the steam version :( i dont think ill be able to play it.....

I'm pretty sure you can play it with steam :)

I see alot of mods that, though designed for normal half-life, are updated to be "steam compatible" so I assume that NS (being so popular) also has.

I am not sure however, how you get it to work in steam....

well i spent the last two days trying to recover my system from a serious virus taht corrupted every thing in my downloads folder including the driver installation file for my VIDEO CARD!, how it wound up in the drivers i have no clue of, unless it loads some files from the executable installer,........ last time i try using that stupid win errm some thing program, this is the result of trying to route internet to my xbox with two network cards so i could connect to XBC,...... ever time i execute a file from the mydownloads folder it shuts off my comuter, well its fixed now and seems to be running smoothly.....

now back to NS,... yes it looks fun but i have no clue of how you play something like that, ill try downloading it......, but now i have to get back to FALLOUT2,.. heheh.. thats right use the super stim on him.... ahhaha he had a heart attack,.. charge the plasma rifle, vic youre an idiot!, u did burst with an assault rifle just to kill a friggin dog!, wait till we get to the sierra army depot your brains are coming out.....( utters more threats and rambles on,....).....................

arrggh this NS crap is pissing me off, each server is running its own version and own maps and it dosent download them for you, why the hell dosent every one just run beta 3.0 4a????,


dammit this sucks, i dont have time to track down all these stupid map files,...

can any one help me on this??

I've only played on the normal map servers thus far... Just don't go into one of the custom map servers then.

i dont even have the normal maps, i just have co_faceoff and another map, i dont have a single ns map!,....... did i do some thing wrong when i applied the patches??

Could be, there should be one main file, and two patches. Did you get them all?

ya i got them all but there was a problem with the second patch, it wasnt self extracting so i had to locate the folder where ns was in, only i didnt happen to notice that the extracting file was actually named same as the ns folder so i extracted inside the ns folder and to my surprise the servers wouldnt accept me, so then i tried it again being more observant and there it was , the folders name was what i missed and so i extracted it again this time inside the half life folder so that it would extract over the original folder, then i tried playing and the server accepted me, but only 2 of my maps work, the rest it says differs from the servers map......... maybe i should uninstall and do it properly this time :P

All of mine were installer-type files. Are you sure you got the right ones?

err, i dont think so... and the jarheads serv sucks, the win only dl dosent work so i had to get win/linux............ or was it mac i forget....
