Recently I've been having troubles looking for video editing programs.

I tried to find a version of InterVideo WinDVD Creator for my computer, but Corel no longer continues that product, I have no idea why they don't, seeing that the program was awesome for editing video files and such.

Anyways, I just downloaded a free trial for Sony Vegas and it is horrible. I've never worked with a program that is as slow as Vegas. I'm trying to just put several videos (30 second long videos each) into the Media bank and it will freeze up on me. And when I try to load an already saved project, it will take forever to load it, if it doesn't freeze in the process as well.

So what I need help with is I need to find an easy-to-use and free program that won't freeze up on me while I'm in the middle of using it.

EDIT: I am currently trying a program called VideoStudio Pro X3 by Corel, which I assume is a more advanced version of InterVideo WinDVD Creator.

I know that this sounds like a really BAD idea, but honestly, Windows Movie Maker is not ENTIRELY horrible. Combine that with VirtualDub (to split movies into sections) and it's bearable / almost decent.

Yeah the last time I used WMM it destroyed the audio and made the video extremely choppy and laggy.

When I used Vegas, I didn't have any problems. Since the Vegas engine is designed around real-time rendering, I'm betting you'll probably need a beefy rig to get its full potential.

I've also had a little experience using Adobe Premiere, but switched to Vegas as I found it faster.

I've been using the trial for VideoStudio Pro X3 and it's an awesome program. It's very easy to use and it has a really decent editing system. Also the interface is very well designed. Basically the same thing as WinDVD Creator! :)

I might actually buy it.
