Okay, this is my idea (with a few from others thrown in) or what a good action anime must have, so here goes:
Cast:
Hero-a naive hero who finds his way into the position of heroship through dumb luck and/or breeding. During the first few episodes the hero spends most of his time trying to avoid his responsibility as hero, but eventually comes around (just in time to save the world).
Mentor-this character is not so naive, but is somehow....mentally disturbed. He wears a trenchcoat and always shows up in the least expected places, telling the hero that he "must" do something. This character likely dies about...1/2-3/4 of the way through the series (only to be found in the last few episodes to be alive and well, helping behind the scenes to keep the hero alive, and he dies, again, in the last episode)
Sidekick-this cute female is someone the hero meets hapenstance, or is nextdoor neighbor to the hero. The hero falls in love with the character in episode 1, but doesn't realize it himself until...the last 5 episodes when the sidekick in kidnapped by the villian and the hero must rescue her. She also happend to have some kind of ability to enhance the hero's power (whatever it is villian-this character is, for one reason or another, trying to take over the world and/or destroy it. He employs several henchmen who have no intelligence whatsoever (he probably buys them wholesale, evil villians are usually cheap) The villian is usually someone with some kind of childhood problem that gives him a deep feeling of angst that has been burning inside him for awhile.
Important Plot Points:
Making of a Hero: Hero has a life that goes smoothly up until a single most importnat point, something happens to through his life into array. he sinks into a fit of self-pity and can only be brought out by the mentor.
Saving the hero:For whatever reason, the Hero can psychoanalyze the villian and solve his/her problems in his childhood. this happens in the last episode, right before the villian dies, making the death of the villian tragic.
Finding the Powers: For whatever reason, the Hero stumbles across some kind of super power...usually in the form of a robot and he can instantly operate it (but not fully, for he discovers powers in the robot over time).
OKay that's it for right now, more to come in the future.
