Types Of Anime And Manga

Anime and manga are split into several groups, including :

Shonen = Anime or Manga for Boys :)
Shoujo = Anime or manga for Girls :YES:
Shonenai = Boy/Boy love stories, often non-sexual :no:
Shoujoai = Girl/Girl love stories, frequently non-sexual :YES:
Yaoi = Boy/Boy sex stories :no:
Yuri = Girl/Girl sex stories :YES:
Hentai = Japanese or pervert :lol: Stories that feature graphic sex, Rape,bondage, tentacles, animals and anything except love :ph34r: :P

Note: this isn't a complete list, but covers the most common types :YES:

Forgot to mention Ecchi :blink:
Ecchi isn't normally seen on it's own, but accompanies the above categories :)
Basically, if an anime is described as Ecchi, then nudity is involved :D frequently A lot of nudity :YES:

Kanon doesn't count as ecchi :)
A good example of an ecchi anime is Futari Ecchi - Approx = We are Naked! About a pair of newly-wed virgins :P
There's even an episode of sailor moon that counts :lol:

well Skisyo is actually a short call of Suki na Mono wa Suki Dakara Shōganai! The story locates high school, and...well, it's kinda embarassing to explain....i just put the URL here:

The best known of the versions is the BL game, which features shonen-ai and, in some versions, yaoi. WHAT.
At first when you said well, it's kinda embarassing to explain I though, "Hmm H-Game?" then I go on the Wiki link and see visual novel written a few times, then I read the top and start bleeded out of my eyes.

have you seen yaoi male characters? most are effeminate boys caught in some long drawn out love story with another boy who also looks more female than male and you wounder why so many girls love yaoi stories?

I'm pretty sure if the majority of Yaoi stories were of gruff old men having rough sex with each other after a big battle or something along those lines (no love story...etc) the women would be far less interested in it.

We don't judge what our fellow Archivers do or don't like (PS: I'm assuming that you're a guy and you like Yaoi). The Internet has completely desensitized us to being surprised by ANYTHING.
