Beta Leaks

Don't you just hate it when one of your beta tester's goes behind your back and releases your map to the public. Some people just can't be trusted. I personaly have been burnt befor.

Now adays you can find alot of copies of diffrent versions of my map "Freefall5". It just really gets on my nerves. My maps normaly spread like wild fire through the l33t group and I can't ever get it sorted out my Beta Freefall5 has even seen a few popular map packs untill I found out and got it removed from the pack.

I still don't know which tester did it. :angry:

And it's gotta be worse for full game companies too. Although sometimes I wonder if leaked game betas aren't done intentionally to generate interest in high-profile games *cough* doom3 *cough*

Actully,coming from a background in that,most of the time the betas ARE set out intentionaly,however i dont think DOOM III was one of these.

You know! and so does ID that hell, there a brand name now. They got ton's of room to do what ever, they don't need, the exetra postarity releaseing a beta gets.

ID is very good with its beta testers,i should know this because ive worked with them a while back,however i havnt seen the new doom or anything out side a game convention we had here in redmond WA,so,ID doesnt seem like the beta pushing type.
