View Full Version : Free Opposing Force?
Is it just me, or is anyone else able to download opposing forces off steam... even though I never bought it? I loaded it up and played through the hazard course, so it seems to work. If this is intentional, this was very nice of valve! If a bug, it's the best bug ever :D

Yeah, but I could never play it :(
In singleplayer, it would have major lag (the sound would loop, and video would freeze for minutes), and eventually (right as the aliens start attacking, dont worry its not a spoiler :P its the first thing that happens in the game!) the game would freeze :(
I haven't tried it yet on the laptop.
Did Valve make OF? Did they make Blue Shift (the other expansion pack)?

I'm pretty sure Gearbox did both.
And I'm not sure about the free OF. I've always has it since I've had the Platinum Pack from before. I should play through it again. Last time I played it was back like two years ago and the game would ALWAYS freeze when I got near the end with some portal type thing.
I've played through it a lot today, and it was much fun :D
I love how there are some sequences from the original intro that you play through! I used to noclip out and explore those areas from the train ride, but now I can PLAY through them! :D
Plus, the sequence where you're trying to escape from a room while the floor is breaking apart is simply awesome! Who says you need Doom3 to have cool scripted sequences? :D
Well, I hope the freeze won't affect me!

Well, I tested it out tonight, and OF does work on my laptop :P
I know everyone was worried sick that it might not work. :)
We will all have to have an OF multiplay game soon ;)
