SimWorld - Model Updates!
I'd like to quickly highlight some of the models that have been created recently for SimWolrld. Broken Tripod has been working on some great models recently, and they've come out very nice!
The first image is of BT's Shotgun (sweet!). Hopefully this will make it in-game ASAP!
The second image is of a Ruby character model I've been working on. Unfortunately, I've been having trouble with getting the texturing on the head just right (currently hidden by camera angles ) It is somewhat improved over my last attempt, but I'm still not satisfied with it.

Sweet good job guys. Finally a non-crossbow weapon
Also, I believe they used Blender to do the models.

Thanks everyone! We used Blender, and I used corel photo paint for my texture work (not sure what BT used).

Lots of people would probably laugh at the lame technique I used.
I scanned random items from around my house, cut a square from them, which was an okay size, then blurred the square together, and made it like 5 times larger.
So now it's a colored square thing which, when placed on the faces, actually looks okay.
Haha.
EDIT: And my Light Blue texture is actually the bottom of a clear Yellow Lego piece. I think that's what the shotgun's..Eh, Body.. is colored with. It actually looks a bit more purple, as Sim said. Scanning is fun.

lol! Are you serious? You scanned stuff, got squares, blurred them, and then scanned a blue lego peice? Hmmmm... I guess that's ok.

It was a Yellow Lego piece actually. The light from the scanner make it look blue. I also had a blue, clear lego piece, which is both the Dark Blue and the Light Grey. A bottle of Lens cleaner had some white on it, and that turned to the Dark Grey. The red is something.
Heck, I don't remember anymore. I just scanned random things I found, and did that thing. It kinda worked. And I've got a Sniper (RubyBow) and Rocket Launcher model coming up, they need to be "Textured."
And I'm also supposed to be making a Hummer and one or two Helicopters. Those will be hard. Very hard.
